Concept Board
Rationale
My work narrates my trait of being a dreamer that loves to daydream and
imagine about wonderful things, and how it leads me to success.
I want to showcase the never-ending ideas and thoughts that goes through
my head everyday, and how these ideas help light up my path as an aspiring
designer.
I used celestial and galaxy elements as I think they symbolize infinity,
combined with the design of unmasking myself to show a whole universe in me.
This is to represent how I have infinite potential in me.
With my poster, the message I want to convey is: We all have endless
potential, our ideas and thoughts have the power to create a bright future for
ourselves.

PROCESS
First, I illustrated the background for my poster using lines. I took reference from a starry sky illustration.
Then, I experimented with the adding affects to the words.

Then I came out with a draft of how my final would look (roughly) where I added frames, illustrated planets and a illustrated gate.
I used 3d effect, bevel and extrude for both the words and the portal gate.
I also illustrated the planets and used grain effect for the nice texture.

Lastly, I edited the frame.

Title: Endless Light
Artist Statement:
“Endless light” represents the never-ending ideas and thoughts that goes
through my head everyday. Besides that, these ideas help light up my path
as an aspiring designer. The celestial and galaxy elements as I think they
symbolize infinity, to represent how I have infinite potential in
me. The way the planets line up to form a pathway towards the portal, it can be interpreted as the road to success.
We all have endless potential, our ideas and thoughts have the power to
create a bright future for us.
FEEDBACK
REFLECTION
Personally, I enjoyed the ideation process for this assignment the most out of all others. Since the main topic of the poster is ourselves, and we were given a lot of freedom, it was easy for me to come up with ideas. It actually took me quite long to come up with something at first because I wanted to try too many things and couldn't really decide. I really appreciate the opportunity for us to express ourselves through this task.
The digitization process was not too tough as we were already well equipped with skills to use Adobe Illustrator proficiently from all the practice we got during the previous projects. However, it is the first time we are integrating 3 modules in one assignment, so we had to make sure all 3 modules were equally touched on, and we had to use multiple software to complete digitizing it. The style of each module's components had to match well together.
Here's a not-so-fun fact though, my laptop almost crashed multiple times when animating in Adobe After Effects, so I didn't dare to do too much, and it also took super long to render. That being said, I'm guessing it's time to get a new laptop.
Overall, it was a really fun and enjoyable experience in my opinion, being able to use skills learned throughout this semester to create a unique artwork of my own was quite fulfilling. Lastly, I'm very happy with my final artwork, and i think it represents me really well.
