Reflections
What have I learnt in this module?
I learned about many significant design principles that can make a design more appealing. I also learned how to apply them into my own artwork. Furthermore, I learned how to conduct proper visual analysis towards an artwork.
What did I enjoy the most?
I enjoyed exploring different ideas for the final design. It gave me the opportunity to play around with my creativity. Additionally, I enjoyed looking at beautiful artworks through the internet while looking for references. I also enjoyed the feeling of accomplishment after successfully incorporating the design principles that we leaned into our final artwork.
What did I not enjoy the most?
I did not enjoy making decisions, such as choosing the artwork for our first task, and deciding what color the tin can in my final design should be. This is because I always overthinking, which drags and delays my progress. I also do not enjoy the constant need to make everything in my artwork perfect because it is exhausting, and it is also not possible to be perfect.
What have i learned about myself through this module?
I learned that I am able to produce creative artworks that conveys my desired message, and I can apply design principles in my creations effectively. I also learned that looking at visual references as well as writing the ideas down help me come up with a design faster. Additionally, I learned that I need better time management.
What has changed and what has not in my learning journey?
I have become more observant and analytical towards the artworks I see, which helps give me inspiration. I will now implement design principles into my work throughout my learning journey. What has not changed is that I will always be open to learn more design skills and knowledge.
What could be improved in this module?
I think the pre-recorded lectures are not very effective. Face-to-face learning is always more encouraged, I feel like I can focus and obtain knowledge better that way.
