FINAL PROJECT

Process

First, I animated 3 interactions with earth using Adobe Illustrator, Premiere Pro then Capcut to add voice and chat animations.

Then, I placed it into unity and linked them to the correct button.

Continuing from the MVP, I finally figured out how to make the drag and drop mechanism work. First, I made sure all the 3d objects were placed under an empty parent object. Then, I made sure all the 3d objects had rigid body and box colliders. I also made sure that all the box colliders were in the right position. The script for drag and drop worked well after that.  Lastly, I also switched from using marker-less AR to using marker-based AR.

I repositioned the game objects spo they were easier to interact with.

I utilised a script that allows feedback mechanism when the correct item is dragged into the correct-colored recycling bin or when it's wrong.. When all 3 are correct, there will be a pop-up window announcing it.

REFLECTION

This was an intriguing yet incredibly challenging module. Creating experiences using Unity was both rewarding and fulfilling, but the hurdles I encountered along the way were far less enjoyable. Unity proved to be quite complex, where even a single mistake or an overlooked detail could disrupt the entire experience. Finding solutions often required repeated trial and error, which could be both time-consuming and frustrating.

There were moments when I felt completely stuck—particularly when multiple suggested solutions, including those from ChatGPT, failed to work. It was disheartening to the point where I sometimes wanted to avoid facing the module altogether. Thankfully, I managed to work through many of these challenges and figure things out in the end.

Looking back, I wish I had exercised more patience and improved my time and stress management. With better planning, I believe I could have developed a more polished and engaging AR experience. Despite the difficulties, this module provided me with a valuable opportunity to deepen my understanding of AR and VR development. Overall, while demanding, it was a highly educational experience, and I enjoyed learning about the creative possibilities these technologies offer.
